Description
Oh, Norse Mythology — the classic 4th grade block. The exciting stories of Odin, Thor and Loki absolutely delight and excite those 9- and 10-year-olds!
In this conclusion to the dramatic Norse tales, we focused on three main stories — but they were good ones! They provided the backdrop for writing and other language arts skills. You’ll find the daily content presented in a handy chart, including the review and bookwork activities we engaged in each day. I haven’t included all of the daily lessons with the new content, because the new content presentation was fairly simple (just those three stories.)
We were learning entirely online for this block, though I didn’t find that this format interfered with our typical main lesson rhythm. If we had been in person we might have been able to take up more projects or perform our poems for friends and family, but we worked through the content and felt just as immersed in the material as ever.
Here’s what you’ll find in this curriculum guide.
- Primary content resources
- Background thoughts about WHY you teach the block
- An overview of HOW to teach the block
- A day-to-day content outline
- Daily review suggestions
- Photos of sample main lesson book pages
- Some of the warm-up content I used during this block
