I’m so excited to release my first 8th grade curriculum guide. It’s a unit on the dynamics of air and water —Waldorf 8th grade physics and meteorology.
My students and I had such a great time with this block. There was water squirting everywhere! Just the thing to liven up a bunch of adolescents!
This was a long 6-week block that included a couple of great field trips, lots of fun science demonstrations and some pretty complex dynamics (the hydraulic lift, calculations of pressure.) It was just the thing to get us going in 8th grade.
This physics block was so much fun — I found it to be the perfect thing to kick off the year and we did so many fun demonstrations and activities!
This guide shows you just what I did for those first six weeks of the year. Though you could certainly use this guide and the internet to put together a decent block, but you’ll get even more value if you take a look at my recommended resources. There are a couple of can’t-miss resources for this block!
In this guide you’ll find . . .
a 28-page pdf document with explanation of main lesson format, an outline for the block, and lesson plans (straight from my planner)
ideas for review activities
plenty of photos of main lesson pages
lots of photos and diagrams that guided our work for the block, giving main lesson page and art project ideas
handouts and reading responses
a block test and quizzes
primary and secondary resource suggestions
supplies recommendations
