I don’t tend to post much about my personal life on this blog, but these days my life is all about the intersection of the personal and professional.
This week my youngest, my baby, graduates 8th grade and moves on to our local public high school.
I started teaching when this little guy was in utero.
When my first class was in 8th grade, he was in first grade.
This little guy gave me my first 8th grade graduation rose crown.
I have never gone to school without one of my children. They are the reason I found this calling. And now, even though they move on, I continue to answer the call.
I’ve got one more week of school with this little guy.
5 days.
And then the days of going to school with my children are gone.
I will be the teacher of the 8th Grade — The Class of 2017.
And then . . .
Big decisions.
