How wonderful it is to come together with a community of colleagues and work with intention.
This week my colleagues and I met at a beautiful conference retreat in the country nearby. While we were there we talked about how to work together for the year in a healthy and productive way.
So many inspiring things came out of this meeting, but what I, personally, am taking away is an urge to be mindful of the things that I do, say and feel and how those things impact the people around me.
How can I bring greater consciousness and intention to my life? It feels easy now, in the slower-paced ease of summer, but when the rush and bustle of the year is in full-swing, what can I do to bring myself back to this commitment to live consciously?
For me, daily meditation is key, but it is not always easy for me to do. I know that I need to find a strong rhythm around it in order for it to be successful. I’ve committed to giving the first few weeks of school to put my daily meditation at the center of my focus, knowing that this intention will carry out into other parts of my life.
Toward this end, I’ve picked up a book off my shelf that I feel gives an excellent guide to practicing Steiner’s six basic exercises.
If you’re looking for a little guide to meditation, specifically Steiner’s six basic exercises, Enlivening the Chakra of the Heart is a great place to turn. I find it to be a very accessible read and a very practical guide to this meditation. It’s helping me renew my dedication to this practice and I highly recommend it.
