Monday afternoons I paint with my class. This week we painted two different types of flowers — the lily and the rose. We’ll be going into our botany block when we return from the Olympiad next week. I’ll bring them the picture of the monocotyledon and dicotyledon through the story of the lily and the rose.
After painting such challenging things, this was quite satisfying. And what could be more beautiful than a painting of flowers?!
This is beautiful. My 6th grader is wanting us to explore botany some more this spring and summer. She loved the block last year.
I love the botany block, too. Though I think my favorite block of all was 6th grade mineralogy. Who knew rocks could be so interesting?
