There are lots of great resources out there. Check here on Fridays for the ones I found most useful during the week.
Pyramid by David Macaulay is a book that I’d seen on Waldorf fifth grade bookshelves in the past (as well as his other volume called Castle) but for some reason I never really gave it a close look. This week I had a few extra minutes so I picked up this book and read it. Cover to cover. It’s a good one.
It tells the story of a pharaoh building a pyramid in a lovely imaginative way — at the same time that it covers all of the fine details. I found it to be just the perfect book for teaching about the Egyptian pyramids.
